Looking for new work opportunities
I think it's time for me to look for new U.S.-based work opportunities — particularly flexible full-time remote roles. If you know of something that might be a good fit, please reach out. Here's a quick rundown of my past roles, with more info below.
- 5 years technical writing for a regional MSP
- 8 years sysadmin/support in a clinical setting
- 10 years remote volunteer IT work for an international nonprofit; 5 years help desk, 5 years application deployment with technologies like MCM, Jamf, GitLab CI/CD, PowerShell, Bash
I'm currently a technical writer for the marketing team of a regional managed services provider (MSP). Since 2021, I've been producing articles, copy, and occasional case studies for their website. My role involves research, conducting interviews, writing, revising, and publishing. My goal with every item is to clearly answer the questions of prospects and clients. Even with the precipitous drop in traffic thanks to AI chatbots, we continue to have a steady stream of strong sales-qualified leads coming to us as a result of this content.
Previously (2011–2019), I was an IT specialist supporting hundreds of users and devices at a local hospice. My work there included sysadmin, support, and training duties. I had the great experience of implementing an MDM solution for 75 iPads in a clinical setting. I also wrote technical documentation in this role. It was a pleasure to help the staff accomplish their work and to be a resource they knew they could depend on.
From 2015 to now, I have also done remote IT support for an international nonprofit. For the first five years, I was in a general help desk role and facilitated training for technicians. Since 2019, I am in an app deployment role where I work with Microsoft Configuration Manager, Jamf, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and PowerShell and Bash scripts for automation. I've also been able to experiment with building web automation scripts using TypeScript and libraries like Playwright.
I'm always interested in new challenges and opportunities to grow and learn. This keeps my work interesting. It is also why flexibility important to me: it allows me to continue my remote volunteer work which has been personally and professionally rewarding.
Thanks for reading and please do reach out if you have leads or advice.
