1Password, I need you to chill out
I love 1Password. I appreciate the team for being security conscious. I am going crazy with these frequent prompts to re-enter my master password.
A common remedy suggested online is to change the frequency with which 1Password will require the master password to be entered. That would work fine, if that setting was the cause of the problem.
The real root of the problem, however, is that Chromium-based browsers update FAR TOO FREQUENTLY. See, this is the message I get:
You're asked to re-enter your password because Microsoft Edge has an update available.
Dear 1Password team, you do realize that people keep many open tabs in their browsers, sometimes for extended periods of time, right? We are not out here closing our browser after each session like well-adjusted adults. But with this behavior, I either have to close Edge frequently or enter my master password frequently. Not cool.
Please, please fix this.
P.S. to the keyboard warriors: I am aware that I could contact 1Password directly. I'm not digging up the email, but they wanted me to do all kinds of diagnostics and troubleshooting instead of putting in the work themselves. Nah fam. Set yourself up Edge or Chrome on a computer you actually use like a real person, and you will run into the same issue.
